about

The New Testament EP is a more commercial sound for the band, far different from their debut release #WhenHeroesFail and also different from the future direction of the band. This is the final parting gift for singer Matt O'Tonic McGroarty, as both he and Polytheist have mutually agreed to part ways. Since Matt had a strong clean voice, the band agreed it best to capsulize it on these 3 songs and archive them in the catalog! This EP was engineered, mixed, mastered, and produced by the great Mike Mallon! The 3 EP songs include: #ThicketofSolitude (title borrowed from Nickelodeon's #Doug ), #WhatLiesOnChannel95 , and #DaedalusComplex

Polytheist is composed of metal musicians with wildly differing opinions on music. Taking to an inclusive worldly approach of not dismissing any ideas just to fit a genre mold, Polytheist composes alternative progressive metal with elements from all over space and time. Track Name: Thicket Of Solitude
Time goes by

The endless hope
That we all feel
The sands of time
That last in souls
They fade away
They bring decay
They pass on by
To another world
To a forbidden zone
All hope is gone
All Else is Gone
All Hope is gone

And all your words
Let me bleed out
sitting in solitude
I feel your malice
I feel your need
But I am just a mortal man

I feel like I’m just not myself
I feel like things aren’t right
But I won’t let it hurt me
No I won’t I won’t let it hurt me

The endless hope
That we all feel
The sands of time
That last in souls
They fade away
They bring decay
They pass on by
To another world
To a forbidden zone
All else is gone
All hope is gone
All Else is Gone

And all your words
Let me bleed out
sitting in solitude
I feel your malice
I feel your need
But I am just a mortal man

I will not be faulted
I will not be destroyed
I won’t let this fail me
No
I
Won’t
Let
it
Fail me

And all your words
Let me bleed out
sitting in solitude
I feel your malice
I feel your need
But I am just a mortal man

Time goes by
Track Name: Daedalus Complex
In days of grey
I’ll see the sun
I won’t fly to it
I’d sink above
You’ve helped me sail
A thousand Miles
You gave me purpose
Just to fly

I’ll throw away my arrogance
And put your fortitude on my sleeve
I’ll give my best all for you
But I’ll put my trust in me
I’ll say goodbye to yesterday
And keep the present by my side
I will learn from my mistakes
And let my wings be my guide

In days of grey
I see your smile
I won’t run from it
I’d stand on trial
You’ve helped me sail
A thousand Miles
You gave me purpose
You helped me fly

These wings won’t melt today
I will search my faith
This wisdom is my guide
It will be my strength

For all that I’ve done it will give me light
I will honor you
I’ll never fail my ways!!

And if I do who am I inside
And if I lead my woes what kind of man am I?
Did I try

I’ll never fail you
I’ll never fail you

These wings are my embrace
Track Name: What Lies On Channel 95
They cast their lines
And divide
All their backstab in plain view
They're all snakes
And wolves
Among the sheep
They will not stand
Or mend
Their promises

Because they prey
On the damned

They lie in shadows
Among your portraits

They feed on the alpha
Of your weakness

But we as people see them clearly
And we see through their device

You call me your brother of your your family
But what have you done
For me lately?

Where were you at my downfall
Where were you at my death?!
